HOW WE RAISE OUR PUPPIES

Our puppies are indoors (in our living room)

for the first 4 weeks of their life. We have a comfortable, warm and cozy whelping box set up for them and their mom stays with them almost all the time. We weigh them and handle them every day to get them used to interacting with people and to monitor their growth and make sure all is well.

Once they are about 4-5 weeks old they are ready to explore beyond their whelping box. They are so much fun at this age, and so much work :) We introduce new experiences to them so they become comfortable with normal house activities. They start to play with toys and with us and are the cutest little babies. At this age we start taking them to the backyard in a playpen so they can explore their surroundings in a safe way. We always supervise their play and make sure they are having a great time. After playtime we bring them back home and they spend the night indoors.

THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCIALIZING

When puppies, and dogs in general, are well socialized they are lovely companions. They can accompany you through life and they will enjoy doing a variety of your favorite activities such as travel, walks, eating out, going for a run, hiking and meeting new people and pet friends. Well socialized pups will get along well with your family and friends and other animals and you will enjoy taking them to public places. Overall, socialization is incredibly important to max out on the fun you can have with your puppy.

We start to socialize the pups early to get a head start but after you bring your puppy home, this work needs to continue. We will give you tips on how to socialize your puppy and you can always reach us with any questions. We are here to help make your life with your puppy the happiest it can be.
